Shaftsburg Elementary - Perry West Campus is located in Shaftsburg, Michigan and is part of the Perry Public School system. Our school serves over 300 children from pre-school through the fifth grade. Shaftsburg is a rural school and has that warm, family feeling from the moment you walk into the door. Students feel safe and secure in their environment and are surrounded by a loving and devoted staff.
The Shaftsburg Elementary school follows the state-aligned curriculum in all subjects. Core subjects include reading, writing, mathematics, social studies, and science. Other course offerings include technology class, team building class, fine arts class and physical education class. Our students in grades kindergarten through fourth partipate in the 90-30-30 literacy block. Students receive ninety minutes of reading and thirty additional minutes of reading to meet their needs. Students who need additional help in reading then participate in another thirty minutes of support.
Parents are an important part of the team at Shaftsburg Elementary. Our PTO is active and supports many of our school activities and functions. Field trips, assemblies, evening events, and special school day celebrations are funded and staffed by our fantastic PTO. Parents also serve in our building as volunteers and help in the classrooms. Shaftsburg Elementary loves their families.

Our school offers a full-day, every day kindergarten program and an Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) classroom which serves 3 to 5 year-olds with developmental delays including speech, Down syndrome, and Autism.
